It is evident that the prices of premium unleaded petrol and diesel follow a very similar pattern. Both started at over 60 pence per litre in 1999 and gradually increased to its maximum in mid-2007, where premium unleaded was at 120 pence per litre and diesel was at 130 pence per litre. Both prices dropped by 20 pence per litre in 2008.
